Pacers cap off the week with a win making that six in a row

The Pacers didn’t mess around with the Hornets last night as the last time these teams played, overtime was needed. This team around, a 21-4 run in the second quarter propelled the Pacers to a 54-37 halftime lead, and kept going throughout the third quarter. Another run of 19-7 between the third and fourth quarters put the Hornets away and allowed the starters to rest up for the big test on Monday night.

But looking at this current winning streak, which the Pacers haven’t done since 2005, this team has won by an average of 17.5 points. Talk about taking care of business and putting teams away. I believe the Heat in their winning streak earlier in the season were doing this same type of thing.

This is just what the Pacers needed after that five game losing streak. To go out there, and win some games in a row against teams they should be. Like I said before in previous articles, this next set of games will really give us an idea of where the Pacers could end up in the Eastern Conference. It was so key to get some confidence going as the schedule hits with nine straight games of teams with a .500 or above record.

What can this team do against tough competition? This week should show that as the Pacers play the Bulls, Hawks, Heat, and the Magic all this week. Three of those games are on the road, and the Heat and Magic games will be back to back.

Look for a confident team to hit Chicago on Monday night looking to take out the Bulls for a second time. If that happens, that could be a great feather in the cap of this Pacers team. Only question for me is do I watch the whole game or flip back and forth between Monday Night Raw?
