Pregame with Frank Vogel - Denver Nuggets 2/11/12

Coach Frank Vogel talks about Jeff Foster’s rest & recover schedule, the slippage in execution that comes in lack of practice time, and some really interesting thoughts on David West, and the challenge West faces to balance his important role as a facilitator with the need for him to assert himself offensively.

Something worth noting in this fourth game in five nights – Denver is the fastest-paced team in the league at over 95 possessions per game.

The key to tonight’s game: hitting the first 20 shots in the third quarter.

But I should probably let the man speak for himself.

Pacers tip off in just a few minutes, hoping to notch their 18th victory of this rapidly aging season.

I will be shocked if the Las Vegas PD doesn’t show up at my door in the next 10 minutes for me going absolutely insane tonight. I am mindblowingly upset about the Pacers right now. We have to be the worst 4th quarter team in the league. Charlotte would beat us by 20 right now. So disgusting how we find ways to lose games.

What can you do. You slow the game down to half court sets, and they still kill you. Brewer, Afflalo, and Lawson played lights out.. They were driving, and hitting some tough shots all night.

The defense needs to find a way to defend the break without losing the boards.. The rebounding has been frustrating in this losing streak. Can’t get 50/50 balls, rebounds hitting the hands but ending elsewhere.. The ball carriers were getting destroyed by Al Harrington tonight… All he did was stand there and take the ball. freaking christ!
