The Indiana Pacers have 16 players so far after cutting Lance Allred. But there is one player that has to leave before Monday night’s deadline in which all NBA teams have to have 15 players on their roster, maximum. In my opinion, the players that are on the bubble for the Pacers are point guard A.J. Price, power forward Magnum Rolle, and center Solomon Jones.
Price has showed a lot of promise, but was dealt with an injury during a charity basketball game. However, Price returned way way before than it was even expected. He was two months on time. It was crazy of how fast he recovered. Price has showed himself last season and is obviously a prospect the Pacers refuse to give up on. If it weren’t for his fast recovery, he would’ve been cut easily.
Magnum Rolle has showed a lot of promise and hope for the Indiana Pacers. I really don’t think the Pacers should cut him. Rolle has proven himself enough that he is worthy of making the roster. Some say that he can turn into one of the future stars of the team. I think Indy really wants to keep him.
Solomon Jones may be the odd man out in my opinion. Jones really wasn’t that big of a contributor last season for the Pacers. He had a lot more minutes than expected due to Jeff Foster out for the season. At the center position, the Pacers are pretty well-covered. Roy Hibbert will be having a lot of minutes per night and Foster will have somewhere around 4-10. Foster is a great back-up. In this instance, Indy really won’t need him. Along with that, Josh McRoberts can also play center, too.
To me, Jones is most likely to get cut. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Indiana does that trade where they put in a package of Dahntay Jones and Solomon Jones for a big man to get the roster at 15 players. Whatever happens, I trust in Indy making the right decision.
