A.J. Price Makes Shocking Return

Indiana Pacers’ point guard A.J.Price was believed to be out for the next six months starting May after injuring himself badly in a charity basketball game. However, the second-round draft-pick from last season came to practice without many restrictions. Way ahead of schedule? No kidding.

“I was borderline shocked when I found he’d be able to practice,” head coach Jim O’Brien tells The Indianapolis Star. “I think that’s a credit to our medical staff and to A.J.’s dedication to rehabbing. I’m absolutely blown away by it.”

With four point guards on the roster, Price knows he could be the one to get cut. With 16 players entering training camp, Price knows what’s at stake. One player will indeed get cut.

“I think having the year I had last year, the coaching staff is confident in knowing what I can do,” he said. “Everything else is going to take care of itself. It’s not my job to worry about how many spots we have, how many point guards we have. The only thing I can do is control what I can do and what I can bring to the team.”

In my opinion, I see one of the big men leaving. It will be up to Solomon Jones and Josh McRoberts at the end.

Price is too good to leave after showing himself last season.
