According to the Associated Press, the Indiana Pacers have picked up the option on center Roy Hibbert. This means the former first-round draft pick will be signed through next season.
Hibbert will be entering his third season into the league, after coming off an improving year with 11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. Hibbert has had a great off-season, and according to head coach Jim O’Brien, he’s having the best off-season he has ever seen from him.
Hibbert has been practicing much of the off-season working with legendary center Bill Walton. He is in for a primed and breakout season for Indy.
He will help rebuild Indy, along with a handful of other guys like point guard Darren Collison, and the small forwards in Paul George and, of course, Danny Granger.
