LeBron James was liked by everyone, especially in Cleveland. But since he made his move to leave the Cavaliers to join up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami to play for the Heat, his popularity dropped big time and now he is one of the worst-liked athletes in the nation. Maybe even in the world!
The Q Scores Co., which is a poll-conducting website, had James ranked as the sixth most-disliked athlete in American sports. The results were published on Tuesday on CNBC.
According to that report, James is considered a “negative light” at 39 percent. When he was with the Cavaliers, it was a different story as he was viewed 24-percent positive and only 22-percent negative by the American population.
“LeBron’s positive score at that time [January] was the highest we had ever seen it,” Henry Schafer, executive vice president of Q Scores, told CNBC.
James drop in the positive rankings has gone as far as to 41.5-percent! He is only viewed as a positive light, with 14-percent. James has reached much criticism since his decision. After the decision he made, he has been viewed as coward and a quitter.
“Instead of his change to the Heat being seen as the best way he can win a championship, many have looked at it and how he chose to announce it as a selfish move,” Schafer told CNBC.
The other five disliked athletes include Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, golfer Tiger Woods, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad OchoCinco, and Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant.
