NBA Playoffs 2010: Phoenix Suns Showing They Mean Business This Year

The Phoenix Suns have always been ridiculed for the past few years. They have never been considered serious since they always lose. They always come close, but never make it.

With such a squad they had last year, people mocked Phoenix. They were unable to make the postseason with such an advanced squad.

The squad is still advanced, and now, there is definitely no more mocking. The Suns entered the first round with a surprising defeat from the Trail Blazers. That’s when all seriousness began to fade.

All of a sudden.

I thought the Suns would choke again, but they advanced. With that, it seemed like they didn’t stand a chance against the San Antonio Spurs. Many believed the Spurs in six or seven games.

Now the Suns are the ones talking, already leading the series 3-0. The Spurs played tough and Goran Dragic came up out of nowhere. Many experts already had the Spurs in six or seven.

ESPN.com experts had the Spurs winning. Only two out of ten ESPN NBA experts picked the Suns…in seven games, though. Now the Suns are here looking to sweep them tonight.

Now the Suns, finally, mean business. They are showing nothing but seriousness for this postseason and are in need of a Finals championship. This year may in fact be the year.

Right now, for the Western Conference, it’ll most probably be the Phoenix Suns versus the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns seem so much more advanced and determined this year.

Steve Nash will still be the engine, providing points here and there and foolish passes. Amare Stoudemire continues to score and rebound and be a valuable player to the franchise. Dragic will be the key man. Grant Hill as well.

This year may be the year for Phoenix.

It’s coming.
