IndyCornrows.com brought something up in their recent IC Cold Links post. There are rumors heating up of Ekpe Udoh falling to the Pacers, if they hold the tenth pick of the draft. Here’s what ESPN’s Chad Ford thinks of it:
“Barring a lottery miracle, the Pacers are screwed. A month ago, they were looking at possibly drafting No. 4 and adding a building block next to Danny Granger. But a late-season run dropped them all the way to 10th and ended any realistic chance they’ll get a star. Udoh, however, would fit a need as an athletic shot-blocker who can run the floor.”
He could work I guess. He’ll be a great asset to the Pacers, and Danny Granger. Still like Xavier Henry more, though. No offense.
Here’s a little more of Udoh: He’s a 6’10” 240-pound PF/C. I think he could have enough athleticism to be a SF as well. Indy may indeed try that out sometimes. He is very athletic.
He had 13.9 PPG and 9.8 RPG for Baylor last year. Pretty good. I think the Pacers are drafting him because they want to be on the safe side if they find out there could be a mistake in Tyler Hansbrough.
He could work. We’ll see how he does.
