Pacers-Clippers: Indy Snaps 4-Game Losing Streak, Beat L.A. 86-73

Well there is no doubt that Troy Murphy is back in action. He led the Indiana Pacers to a victory–even without Danny Granger–beating the Clippers 86-73.

This victory snaps a four-game losing streak. The Pacers also improve to 6-7 while the Clippers fall to 6-10.

Murphy was struggling for the first three quarters, but his game began to evolve in the fourth, scoring ten of his 18 total points and the Pacers’ 31. Murphy has been battling through some injuries for the season but has been able to go back into his normal shape, in fact, maybe even better after this win.

“I’m not a real big rah-rah type guy,” said Murphy. “I just let my play do the talking. That’s the way I’ve always been.”

Murphy also had eleven rebounds in the game.

“No Granger, no problem” was what the Pacers showed today, giving out a team effort in the game. They struggled in the first half a bit, but played strong after that.

Defensive stopper Dahntay Jones has been an offensive helper lately, scoring 18 points. Luther Head added with 14 points and so did Brandon Rush with 13.

“It’s harder for an opposing team to scout where the shots are going to come from,” Murphy said. “Now, they have to prepare and focus on different guys.”

Although the Clippers lost, they did have some positives in the game. Baron Davis is having a great year so far, and he had a great game, scoring 25 points. But the big performer in my opinion was Marcus Camby, who put up 15 points with 21 rebounds.

But yet, Mike Dunleavy Sr. wasn’t satisfied with the loss.

“It was an awful loss,” Dunleavy said. “We can’t get this one back, so we have to move on.”

The Pacers will play the Mavericks on the 27th at 8 PM. But now, the Pacers need to celebrate this victory. And hopefully, this victory can get themselves jumpstarted for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

So Troy, are you going to eat a big fat turkey?

“I eat pasta on Thanksgiving,” he said.
